Every summiters dream is to scale the formidable Himalayan ranges, both from the Indian and Nepal side. The tallest peak is Mt. Everest, is a well known fact.

Tenzing Norway of Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary of Newzealand ascended the Everest in the year 1953, on May 29th that was truly a historical effort. They never had the wherewithal of the high-end gears that are required to summit Mt. Everest. Today, there are many avid mountaineers who regularly try to summit these imposing mountain ranges!

Many have lost their lives while ascending or descending Everest. This said, there a lot of schools that prepare one to take this ardours trek to  summit.

However, the credit of the first Indian to summit goes to Lt.Col Avtar Singh Cheema. Thus, India became the 4th nation to summit. And, how can we forget Ms. Bachendri Pal? The honour is hers as the first woman to scale the Everest.

In spite of these, the formidable ranges beckon avid climbers to scale Everest on a regular basis. Here's to everyone who tried or is trying to ascend the tallest peak in the world, MT, EVEREST as the 29th of May is dedicated to everyone of these brave trekkers!
