What drives us to zero in on a particular commodity? Well, the answer is marketing. As the 27th of May is observed as World Marketing Day, let's know some interesting facts about why some commodities are more in demand than the others.

Coustomer is king. Nowadays, anything can be bought or sold if money permits.

And it's heartening to know that our country is the 4th economy in the world pushing Japan to the 4th position. Everyone of us are consumers. And the marketing professionals know exactly their target audience and try to sell it to them. From a new-born to a senior citizen, are consumers. 

Adverts in the print or the electronic media are all over the place. The jingles especially, are quite catchy to attract children. Haven't we come across children insisting to buy a particular health drink just because their favourite cricket star drinks it? This is a simple instance for strategic planning of a particular commodity.

But care must be taken and a line drawn to what to buy and what not to buy! Some are quite harmful as they're cleverly hidden by swanky adverts.

Well, the sky is the limit, but, as we are people with basic sense and the power to think right, it is in our hands to think right and not get swayed by false glorification while buying.
