A poignant date indeed; as Rajiv Gandhi, the then prime minister was assassinated in 1991 on the 21st of May and thus is observed as 'Anti Terrorism Day.' Our country has been witnessing a spate of terrorism for many years.
Every civilized country faces this malice in some form or the other. Governments take a lot of initiatives to drive home the fact that nothing can be achieved by terrorism. It is only death and destruction that serves no purpose.
Many NGOs and other organisations hold many programs and talk to wean the youth away from this factor. Lots of seminars, lectures, discussions and debates are held across schools, colleges and universities to highlight the ill effects of terrorism.
Let us strengthen the hands of our government in eliminating this plague from our country forever. Let us also pledge never ever resort to terrorism as it spreads only violence and nothing else.
