There are 2 important events that took place on the 13th of May that we can recall going down the memory lane.
The first thing that comes to our memory is the Red Fort, a symbol of our country's vibrant democracy that stands testimony even to this day in our capital , New Delhi. The Red Fort housed the Mughal Emperors for over 2 centuries. This was completed in the year 1648. Every year, our prime minister addresses the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on our Independence Day and unfurls our National Flag.
Secondly, the first Rajya Sabha meeting was held in the year 1952, a few years after our country attained independence from the British. It is an honour and utmost pride to represent our country-men and women and constituencies in both the houses, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha that are seats of power! The Rajya Sabha is also known as the Upper House of the Parliament Of India.
These are some interesting facts that happened many years ago in our great country. Isn't it interesting? Well, most definitely so.
